What yo can expect
Set aside everyday distractions and join us on this retreat to the beautiful island of Karpathos. Here,
you will enjoy a whole week of energizing yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, and self-massage
focusing on the connective tissue.
We start each day with a delightful yoga practice in the venue’s large outdoor yoga shala. After
class, we enjoy a hearty breakfast, and then you can spend the rest of the day as you wish—whether
you want to relax with a book on the beach, take a walk, or simply unwind in a hammock.
In the afternoon, we reconvene for a soothing and therapeutic practice that includes a mix of yin,
restorative yoga, and connective tissue massage to help you fully relax and find deep rest. On two of
the days, you are invited to join excursions: one day to a small seaside town with long beaches and
cozy tavernas, and another day to Olympos, a traditional Greek mountain village where we will
have dinner. If you wish to explore more of the island, you are welcome to do so on your own.
In the evenings, we gather for dinner on the terrace, with candles and good conversations around the
table.

Your teachers
Your teachers on the trip, Ida Engerud and Gry Bech-Hanssen, are co-owners of Kjernekraft Yoga
& Pilates in the center of Oslo, and together they lead Kjernekraft’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher
Training. They are committed to ensuring that the yoga they teach is relevant and accessible to us
today. The focus on bodily awareness and presence, combined with new knowledge about
connective tissue and functional movement, runs like a common thread through everything they do.
At Kjernekraft, they teach classes focusing on fascia, embodiment, and mindfulness. They also have
extensive experience with corporate yoga.
Ida’s primary interest lies in the combination of yoga and embodiment, which has been her path to
experiencing greater freedom, security, and joy in life. She facilitates classes in an open, warm, and
inclusive manner. In Ida’s yoga classes, you will experience a calming yet energizing practice. The
classes are a good mix of alignment-based yoga, mindful breathing, creative sequences, and a
sprinkle of meditation and free intuitive movement.
Gry works with active dancers, sedentary office workers, and everything in between. With her
friendly presence, Gry challenges both physical and mental patterns, helping you build a strong and
flexible connective tissue that can withstand stress while feeling softer and more elastic. She has
spent the last ten years studying therapeutic yoga, connective tissue, and anatomy, thriving at the
intersection of training and therapy. In Gry’s classes, you can expect a good mix of movement,
mindfulness, and deep breathing.
